90cm Dainichi Kohaku wins All Japan Koi Show 2020

Famous breeder Dainichi koi farm has once again been awarded Grand Champion at the All Japan Nishikigoi Show.

The 51st show in its history, the All Japan is the most prestigious koi show in the world and the winner often becomes the world’s most valuable fish.

The huge female red and white Kohaku pictured was in the 90cm and over category, and is the second Kohaku to win the All Japan in a row.

Dainichi are famous throughout the koi world for producing some of the best, if not the best, koi in the world, and this year’s win serves to cement their reputation.

Size is rewarded in koi, and 24 female fish were entered in the 90cm category this year. 100cm plus fish are possible and have even shown in the UK, but size and quality is a rare thing, and this fish has both.
