Octozin is back, courtesy of NT Labs

When Waterlife Research closed its doors a year ago, it left a sizeable hole in the aquarium treatments market. Generations of fishkeepers had used Waterlife products throughout its long 56-year history, and its brand names are synonymous with treating certain illnesses.

Octozin was one such product, used by Discus keepers and Tropheus keepers up and down the country, and when it disappeared off the nation’s aquatic retail shelves, it caused a scramble to buy up what was left. And that was my advice – if you can find it, buy it, because there won’t be any more.

That was until today, however, as fellow British medications manufacturer NT Labs has relaunched the former Waterlife Research Octozin product under their own brand. This time in liquid form instead of tablets. And the whole of fishkeeping will be better for it.

Wholesaler J&K Aquatics Limited had this to say about it:

Suitable for coldwater & tropical aquariums, NT Labs Octozin is a 3-day treatment designed to combat Hole-in-the-Head disease and Bloat, common issues caused by certain bacteria and parasites.

Effective for a wide range of fish species

Especially useful for African cichlids

Use when symptoms include pits or lesions around the head and lateral line, abdominal bloating, protruding scales, trailing white/clear faeces, or loss of appetite.
